Our approach to occupational therapy

During your first session, our occupational therapist will assess your condition and work with you to develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

Treatment may include manual therapy, modalities such as laser, ultrasound, heat, cryotherapy, and paraffin wax, as well as exercise therapy. When appropriate, our occupational therapist may fabricate a custom splint designed specifically for your hand and condition.

If your recovery would benefit from collaboration with another provider — such as a physiotherapist or your referring physician — we'll coordinate that care so you receive the most comprehensive treatment possible.

Frequently asked questions about occupational therapy

Occupational therapy is a health profession focused on helping patients return to full function in their everyday life. Our OT program specializes in hand, wrist, and finger rehabilitation.

No referral is required to book occupational therapy. However, some insurance providers may request one for coverage purposes. Contact us or check with your plan if you're unsure.

OT is covered by many third-party insurance plans. We offer direct billing where possible and can provide documentation for submitting your own claim.

Not everyone does. If your occupational therapist determines that a custom splint would support your recovery, they can fabricate one during your course of treatment.
